Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii) is derived from the nuts of Shea. It is unrefined and unprocessed, handcrafted without using any sophisticated machinery. Made by women cooperative in Northern Ghana. This shea is soft, easy to work with.
Description and aroma: strong nutty aroma characteristic of crude shea butter. Light yellowish colour, solid at room temperature. Melting point between 32 C - 35 C (89 F- 95 F);
Use: One of the most popular butter for skin care, packed with beneficial properties. Used in cosmetic as a powerful moisturizer, rich in vitamins and fatty acids. Absorption of the Shea Butter is quick penetrating deeply into the dermal part of the skin, nourishing and leaving skin smooth and protected.
Use for skin ointments, creams, lotions, whipped butters, deodorants, lip balms, soaps, shaving creams.

Recipe: Body butter with Shea butter. 180 gr Shea butter, 40 gr liquid oil of your choice (baobab, rosehip, hemp seed oil, sweet almond, grapeseed oil, pumpkin seed oil, Apricot kernel..). Measure shea butter in the pot that can go over hot water to melt. Always use double boiler for melting butter, DO NOT heat it directly on the stove or microwave. When shea is melted, cover it and place it in the freezer for about 10 min-15 min (to harden). Measure liquid oils. When Shea butter hardens start wiping it by slowly adding liquid oil. Use stick blender on high speed. Add BioAromatica essential oil synergy blend; 25-30 drops of essential oils on 220 gr of whipped butter. Pack in 250 ml jars. Keep on room temperature.
